I had a doctors appointment this morning, but while I was getting ready I went downstairs and the TV was on and playing our local news. I caught a few minutes of this story on a single father who has been laid off from work, and he has been walking around town with a sign that reads “Been laid off. Looking for a job. Not a handout” Obviously it’s sad because of the situation he is in, but it also reinforces the fact that this town is really hard to find work, and the fact that we have one of the highest unemployment rates.
Little while later when I was on the bus on the way to my appointment, the guy it showed on the news, got on my bus and sat a few seats over across from me. He had his sign folded up and under his arm, also it was raining out too. I really just wanted to tell him that I truly hope everything works out for him and that he finds work soon. But I’m way too socially awkward for that. So my thoughts are out to him and I seriously hope he does find work soon and everything works out for him.
